FORGIVENESS🌼

Have you heard of the saying hurt people, hurt people? I'm sure most you have and it is 💯 true. Forgiveness involves the art of letting of resentment and the urge to take revenge against the offending person . Forgiving also involves two dimensions:
  1. Forgiving oneself
  2. . Forgiving others.
Forgiveness does not exactly mean that you should forget the hurt, that the wrong done to you is excusable or that both parties should mend their relationships,no. It however leads to attainment of the feelings of understanding, compassion and empathy for the other party.
You should not however feel rushed to reconcile with those circumstances or people that offended you. Take the time to heal and when you feel ready you can face them.

    Consequences of not forgiving.

    1. Always or most times, you feel angry and bitter for no specific reason.
    2. You might lose valuable and beneficial relationships and connections with other people.
    3. You become so engulfed in the wrongs done to you that you can't enjoy the present moments.
    4. You feel like your life lacks purpose or direction.

How to reach the state of forgiveness 🌼

    1. Acknowledge the emotions in respect to the wrong done to you ,the impact it has had on your life and work on releasing such emotions. This can be done through counseling, yoga, meditation, working out etcetra.
    2. Recognise the value of forgiveness and the benefits it brings to your life such as peace ☮️ of mind, body and soul, happiness and better relationships with God and other people as well as other gifts of the holy Spirit (for Christians).
    3. Move from the thought that you are the victim hence being able to release the power and control that the offending person or situation has had on your life.
    4. Choose to forgive the person who offended you. In our everyday life we should try to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Lord's prayer as he taught to His disciples ,"forgive us our trespasses as we forgive .Conclusion.Whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation where you are caught up between forgiving or not to forgive , I hope that you will choose peace and living a happier better life which comes with forgiving others .
